Cluster Amaryllis is called "Higan-bana" in Japan, and comes from the fact that the stems suddenly grow around the autumnal equinox "Higan" every year and bloom brightly colored flowers.
In Buddhism, it also means ”the flower of heaven“, autumn season word in haiku.
